Thanks for this interesting item, Alf. Kind of appealing design, looks like the Glossa Touch, though it seems to be a different label? I much prefer packages like this to classical musicians mooning at me or making out with their instruments. Dork-appeal is a dead end!

About the music on Susato

Contributions

Susato thrives on the musical contributions of its members. All genres of classical music are welcome here, from pre-historic to post-modern. If you have a recording that you would like to share, the following notes will outline our requirements for your upload.

All shares must be original rips prepared by the contributor. It does not matter if you have shared them elsewhere already, but they must be your own work. All submissions should be in FLAC format, either as a disc image, or a set of tracks. We accept uploads made with most ripping software, although Exact Audio Copy (EAC) tends to be the most common. You can view recommended settings for EAC here. The Susato administrators can help if you are using different software.

Most ripping software has the ability to validate results against the AccurateRip and CUETools databases. Please make sure to include the log file that shows the results of that quality check. In exceptional circumstances, we may validate your rip with the CUETools software and include its log with your share.

We also ask that you include a standard Cue Sheet for each disc that you rip. Most ripping software will do this automatically, but again, the CUETools program can be used to generate one if necessary.

In addition to the flac, cue and log files, we also ask for supporting art work. This should include an image of the front cover of the album, and the back cover or tray insert showing the release data, including the record label and release number. Images at 300 dpi or better are preferred, as these images are used in our presentation pages. Images can be your own scans, or images obtained from other sources.

Whenever possible, we also require a complete booklet for the album. Digital booklets (true pdf) are preferred where they exist, otherwise please try to provide scans of the printed booklet.

The Susato administrators are happy to help you prepare the best possible share, please contact us directly if you are concerned about any of our requirements. You may find some helpful hints on our Tips & Tricks page.

If we feel that a submission does not meet our standards for some reason, but has special artistic merit, we may choose to make it available through Susato Links, rather than creating a blog posting.

Once you have prepared your share, you should package it as a zip or rar file. Please be sure to identify yourself. If you are a regular contributor, you can simply include your Susato nickname as part of the file name. If you are a first time contributor, please include a text file with a short note that explicitly grants us permission to share your files. Let us know what nickname we should use to thank you, and how we can contact you if there are issues with your share.

The preferred way to submit your contribution is to use our DROPFOLDER. This is a free facility and does not require you to subscribe to any cloud service.

Alternatively, you can use a file transfer service such as fromSmash to send your upload directly to one of the administrators.

If you need any help preparing your shares, or if you have submitted something and it has not appeared on the blog, please contact the Susato administrators by e-mail. We understand your privacy concerns and assure you that your e-mail will not be shared with anyone without your explicit consent. Nevertheless, we recommend that you reserve a "throwaway" e-mail address for your work with us.
